Blog

May 24, 2014  Hi, I'm Linda and I had this great idea to train and raise labs for my retirement fun.  This is my very first web site experience and my very first blog. They always say there needs to be a first before their can be a second. Brilliant! Anyway so far this has been a wonderful experience and looking forward to having fun with my labs.

Preparation

Okay, all I can say tonight is, "Take a deep breath Linda.",  all will be fine.  After ending up working 3 days in a row, I haven't had the time to work on the puppy room as expected.  Belle Starr is getting rounder and rounder as I type.  She is also a little restless, and on top of that threw up her dinner.  Yeah, in my bedroom on the carpet. Tomorrow I'll start the temperature check 3 times of day and start tracking for the final stage to begin.  Her temp has been running on an average of 100.5.  When it drops in the 90s, then she is close.  I have the whelping box in my puppy room,  lined, and heating pad ready to go.  Waiting for some orders to come in yet, and I have to admit, I'm not sure what I have ordered and forgot.  Too bad they don't have one site with all the things needed and at a reasonable price.  I have been shopping, comparing, and getting things here and there.  I'm sure I have forgotten to order the colored collars for the newborn puppies so you can tell them apart.  Also having problems finding a little scale to weight them on.  Tomorrow a trip to Missoula to find all the small items I need to finish my whelping supplies.  Probably  Walmart. While there,  I'm going to get my hair done.  Then to the Wine store...
